Mountain trip to Hoher Kasten

Program:

  • Train journey via Appenzell to Brülisau

  • From there cable car journey to Hoher Kasten (arrival 10am)

  • Altitude 1794m / 5885 feet

    The Hoher Kasten, located in the heart of Europe, offers pure relaxation for body and soul. The barrier-free Europe circular trail perfectly showcases the view of six countries and is framed by the popular Alpine Garden with its around 300 plants.     The revolving restaurant offers culinary delights that make the one-hour round trip, including the incredible panorama, a unique experience. Whether you want to hike, relax, enjoy the view or the delicious food - on the Hoher Kasten you will find everything in one and much more.

If requested:

  • 2 hour descent by foot back to Brülisau

  • Alternatively: visit of the picturesque village of Appenzell on the way home

Return time:

  • depending on the group approximately 5:15pm

Guide:

  • an English speaking guide will accompany you

  • OSKAR ticket, hiking shoes, warm clothes
