Sharing food and drink culture
Culture thrives on exchange and the joy of discovery. What better place to talk than at the dinner table? Approach each other in a relaxed atmosphere (wine as a social lubricant) and tell each other what you have experienced. For example, a visit to an inspiring exhibition or a new favourite rosé. As passionate wine mediators, we are happy to support «Esswelten». It is an enrichment that the museum landscape of St.Gallen deals with the topic of cuisine in an interdisciplinary way. The «Esswelten» offer a wonderful opportunity to sit around a table and engage in stimulating conversation. About food and drink. And about everything else. We wish you lots of fun and en guete. Santé, Jan Martel
On 9 June, the partner museums of «Esswelten» - the Abbey Library, the Textile Museum and the Museum of Culture - will be inviting guests to their exhibitions and to tables in the courtyard of the Museum of Culture, together with star chefs Sebastian Zier and Richard Schmidtkonz from Einstein Gourmet. The directors of the three museums will also be on hand to help with the cooking and serving. They will also tell exciting stories about the exhibition.
In 2024, the theme of the St.Gallen museum scene will be food and drink. Together with St.Gallen Bodensee Tourismus, three cultural institutions want to focus more attention on this topic. During the Taste Festival, the three museums will create a joint feast for the eyes, ears and taste buds under the title «Esswelten bitten zu Tisch». Experience how the directors of the three museums (Peter Fux, Cornel Dora and Mandana Roozpeikar), together with star chefs Sebastian Zier and Richard Schmidtkonz from Einstein Gourmet, will create an unforgettable experience for registered guests. The aim is to draw attention to the exciting programme of the three exhibitions in the participating institutions in a fun and unusual way. We are convinced that just as the way to the heart is through the stomach, the culinary arts help to open people's minds to cultural offerings. A sip of Martel's wine certainly helps.
A combination of short guided tours of the three museums and the opportunity to enjoy top-quality food to «absorb» the experience, it is aimed at people who are interested in art, culture and food and who are good walkers.
