Description

Sonja Crone was born in Germany in 1982 and now lives near Basel. She studied theater studies, German language and literature, and general literature with a focus on Greek studies at the universities of Basel, Bern, and Leipzig. She also took courses in philosophy (Basel/Bern) and art history (Leipzig).

She works as a poet, visual artist, and editor. Her texts have been published in numerous anthologies and literary magazines. In March 2024, her debut “Einen Spalt weit” (A Slit Wide Open) was published by Geest Verlag. Her second book will be published in 2026.

Sonja Crone was fascinated by artistic expression from an early age, which she pursued as a self-taught artist. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad and published in magazines. Her own ink drawings accompany her poetry debut and abstract paintings accompany Sven Buchsteiner's first book, Nachhallschatten (Afterglow Shadows).

Sonja Crone will be exhibiting her own drawings in the open space from October 30, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
