Arrival by train
Leave the car at home! For every bike, biking or hiking tour in Switzerland, you will receive an SBB coupon per participant, which you can use to deduct CHF 10.- from the ticket price for traveling by train. The reduction can be obtained in the SBB online store or in the SBB app.
On many trips, we use the luggage counters at the stations at the beginning and at the end to hand over the suitcases. You can conveniently combine this right away when you arrive by train. If you are a GA owner, you can provide this information when booking. We will credit you the amount on the invoice. If you don't need the coupon for the trip itself, you can use it during the year. Unfortunately, a retroactive refund is not possible for administrative reasons.

Panoramic trails in the heart of Switzerland
A hiking adventure in the heart of Switzerland. The high altitude hikes around Lake Lucerne are pearls worth discovering. First you pass over Renggpass to reach the lakes and peaks of central Switzerland. From here you continue to Nidwalden and enjoy marvellous views on Lake of Uri and Mount Rigi. After crossing the lake basin you will climb the “queen of the Mountains” and dream of the spectacular mountain panoramas you’ve enjoyed during the last days.
Itinerary (5 days / 4 nights):
Day 1: Arrival to Lucerne | Lucerne – Alpnach Dorf
Baggage drop-off in Lucerne. Today’s leg leads via Horw peninsula to Mount Pilatus. Steep passage over the Renggpass, the only overland link to Obwalden in the 1860s before the construction of the Brunigstrasse. Details: approx. 24 km, ↑ 785 m ↓ 765 m, duration: approx. 7 h
Day 2: Alpnach Dorf - Emmetten
By bus to Dallenwil and with the cable car up to Niederrickenbach. This leg leads on the well-known “wildlife path” on the mountain flanks of Schwalmis and Oberbauen. You reach Niederbauen and go by cable car down to the same placed village. Details: approx. 15 km, ↑ 970 m ↓ 590 m, duration: approx. 5.5 h
Day 3: Emmetten - Brunnen
Down towards the shores of Lakes Lucerne and through the refreshingly cool gorge on the Urnersee lake – along the lakeshore road to Risleten and a climb through the attractive Risletenschlucht gorge. Crossing of the Stützberg along the historic path to Volligen and arrival in Rütli, with views down to the Urnersee lake. From here by ship to Brunnen. Details: approx. 10 km, ↑ 335 m ↓ 670 m, duration: approx. 3 h
Day 4: Brunnen – Rigi Kaltbad
Another cable car brings you up on Mount Urmiberg. From here you continue via Gätterlipass on well-developed trails towards Rigi Kaltbad. Details: approx. 14 km, ↑ 675 m ↓ 445 m, duration: approx. 4 h
Day 5: Rigi Kaltbad – Lucerne| Departure
Steep descend towards Seebodenalp, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Swiss mountains. Take a break in the mountain hut. If you want, you can shorten today’s hike by cable car down to Küssnacht am Rigi. From Küssnacht a boat trip to Lucerne and departure. Steep ascends and descends await you on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Even though most of the can be avoided by cable cars you need surefootedness and a good physical condition to go on this trip.

Arrival and departure:
Arrival by public transport to Lucerne: If you arrive directly, hand in your luggage at the luggage counter by 10 a.m. at the latest.
