Family admission to the special exhibition «Eiszeit»

Description

The changing temperatures come to life under the giant mammoth skeleton in the «Eiszeit» special exhibition (12.10.24-23.2.25). The current ice age began 2.6 million years ago: Since then, longer periods of cold or ice have alternated with shorter periods of warmth. The animal world is correspondingly diverse, from arctic foxes to wolverines and cave leopards. The reconstruction of a cave bear and the cast of the skeleton of Europe's largest and best-preserved mammoth (the original is in Siegsdorf, Germany) are also exclusive to St.Gallen. But this fascinating world is not the only topic on the programme; the current climate change and its consequences for the Swiss glaciers are also on the agenda.
