Guided tour of St.Gallen’s old town incl. cathedral and abbey library (in German/English)

Description

The St.Gallen Abbey District has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983 and the lavish Baroque ensemble including the library and cathedral will leave even culture vultures in breathless amazement. During the approximately 1.5-hour guided tour, you will learn many interesting facts about the Baroque cathedral with its imposing double-towered facade - the landmark of the city of St.Gallen and one of the last monumental monastic buildings of the Baroque period. The heart of the abbey district is the abbey library, which is one of the oldest and most beautiful libraries in the world. The impressive collection of early medieval original manuscripts makes this institution world famous. This tour also leads through a part of the old town.
